Theatre LJCC announces AUDITIONS for THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES.
This non-stop pop musical showcases four women with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts and voices to match. The musical includes 50’s and 60’s pop songs, like “Mr. Sandman,” “Lollipop,” “Mr. Lee,” “It’s in his Kiss,” “It’s my Party,” “Respect,” and MANY more! Women auditioning should be able to hold parts well. Please bring sheet music for accompanist in style of Doris Day, Connie Francis, Dusty Springfield, and Lesley Gore. No monologues; we will read from the script. This casting call is for women 18+ with strong vocals. Auditions are Thursday, June 20 at 7:00 PM in the theatre. Theatre LJCC rehearses Monday-Thursday 6:30/7-9:00 and some Sundays 2:00-6:00. The show runs August 15 & 22 at 7:30 at P.M., August 17 & 24 at 8 P.M., August 18 & 25 at 2:00 P.M. Please bring all potential conflicts with summer rehearsals to auditions. Bring all questions to auditions. Theatre LJCC is located at 3960 Montclair Road, Birmingham. If theatre doors are locked, enter through the fitness center at the right of the building.
