Circle of Life Knitting Group
Knitting to Give Warmth and Comfort to Cancer Patients
Roz Feigelson, Lynette Slaughter, Carol Tuck and Norma Warren, Birmingham’s own knitting mavens, offer you a chance to learn a new skill while providing a service to our community. On Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM in the Gallery, you can join knitters of all skills and ages who learn from the Mavens. Roz, a breast cancer survivor, came up with the idea of expanding the knitting circle and the Circle of Life Knitting Society was born.
The purpose of the group is three-fold:
1) To teach knitting to all levels from beginners to Mavens
2) To honor those women and men in our community, who have been fighting cancer by giving them a scarf, knitted by the group, as a reminder that their community is surrounding them with love, warmth and hope.
3) Supply scarves and shrugs to local hospital cancer patients receiving treatment.
We want you in The Circle of Life Knitting Society! It is open to any interested knitters or those wanting to learn. Come be a part of the Society by contacting Roz, Lynette, Carol, or call Mindy Cohen at 879-0411.
