LJCC Summer Camps
LJCC Summer Camps ... a camping tradition since 1952. For over 50 years, we have had the honor of enhancing the lives of your children. We believe that our summer camps contribute uniquely to the growth and development of your children toward the kind of persons you want them to become. Our camps encourage them to be capable of good judgment, to establish firm beliefs, to gain new and warm friendships, to learn to work together effectively and play fairly with each other, and to make worthy contributions to the communities in which they belong. Your children, our campers, will develop strong character and self -identity through varied activities and experiences.
Although all summer day camps at the LJCC are open to people of all backgrounds and faiths, part of our mission is to enhance Jewish identity. Non-Jews do comprise around half of the camp population. We all benefit from their exposure to our culture, which results in future acceptance with tolerance and support of Judaism as adults. This is done at camp by offering a framework of understanding, exploring and incorporating the Jewish virtue of "being a good person" into camp life. While this is not the camp's ultimate mission, this is an important lesson to experience.
At the end of summer, your children may leave our camps, but they take with them wonderful memories of fun, love, and laughter. Memories that will invariably stay with them for a lifetime, helping make them stronger people, kinder souls and better friends.
This is the tradition of LJCC Summer Camps, now and forever...Shalom.
We offer Camp Yofi (traditional day camp), Sport Camps, and Specialty Camps for 11 weeks each summer.
